Description
Microgreens are a quick, easy way of producing fresh healthy and tasty herbs and vegetables in just 7-21 days. They are an ideal solution to grow at home, an apartment or small space. You can grow your own microgreens for health or to earn an income as a small business.
Microgreens have greater nutritional value than the same herbs and vegetables as mature plants. Grown from seed in a tray or container under good light, these baby leaf greens are harvested in just weeks. They are also an ideal home business.

Will the Microgreens Chart work in my climate?
The Microgreens Growing Guide Chart is suitable for use in any climate. It has a summary of 28 different herbs and vegetables with the ideal temperature for sowing each seed, along with regional climate information e.g. temperate – sow autumn; subtropical – sow spring. It is comprehensive with a LOT of information packed into one guide. If you are growing indoors (such as under grow lights or a greenhouse), then you can adjust the microclimate to grow microgreen varieties right throughout the year.
I keep this Chart in my Garden Journal Binder and use it as a reference when sowing microgreens seeds so I know which varieties are best in cooler months vs spring/summer. I don’t have to keep all those details in my head! It’s a great help.

Question
Kathleen Chisholm –
Does this tell you home many ounces of seed per tray?

Hi Kathleen, thanks for your question! The Microgreens Growing Guide Chart provides detailed information on each of the 28 varieties but not specifically the number of ounces/tray because trays come in so many different sizes! To help you though, on average for a 10 x 20″ tray, you only sow 1 oz (28gms) for the vast majority of small seeds. As a general rule, the larger the seed, the higher planting density will need to be. The sowing densities of microgreens seeds are usually on your seed packet and they are freely available on the internet. This is one guide you can download with the most common seeds to get started with that can be used in conjunction with the Microgreens Growing Guide Chart. Johnny’s Seeds also provide a table of 29 popular varieties with ounces/tray. I hope these free resources will help provide you with what you need. If you purchase the Chart and can’t find the information you need, just reach out and I’d be happy to help you. Please let me know if I can assist with anything else.
Cheers Anne

Ann Lloyd –
I purchased the Seed Collecting Guide which has the content of a book only in a handy fold-out form. It’s incredible how much information is contained in that guide.
Another addition to my gardening shelf is the Microgreens Growing Guide which I really want to get into right now. And instead of viewing numerous “saved” videos, I now have a quick reference guide for every seed plus the Easy Guide to Growing Microgreens. Another well-thought-out and well-set-out guide.
These products are the most useful of their kind that I have seen. And they are such a time saver because of the way they are set out and they cover everything I think a gardener needs to know and that’s important for a novice like me. Well done Anne.
