Spring Planting - What to Grow Now Workshop Palmwoods @ Palmwoods Community Garden

Not sure what to plant in Spring in subtropical SE Queensland? This hands-on workshop is facilitated by Anne Gibson, of award-winning local business, The Micro Gardener. You’ll discover how to get your small edible garden started and thriving with delicious seasonal foods. This fun, practical WORKshop is suitable for all ages.

Whether you’re a beginner gardener or want to layer your learning with practical tips, find out how to:

  • prepare your garden for planting;
  • do a plant health check, identify and address seasonal problems;
  • grow an edible garden in our local climate conditions;
  • grow food from seeds, seedlings, kitchen scraps and cuttings;
  • succession plant annuals and perennials for a continuous harvest;
  • fertilise and maintain plants for a healthy garden.

There will be a tour of the Palmwoods Community Garden and planting into the raised beds. You’ll discover seasonal tips to prepare your soil for planting and the best crops to grow during our short spring and into our transitional season ‘Sprummer’ (October/November)! A great opportunity to have your questions answered and get inspired.
